The Port of New York and New Jersey marked a new milestone on 28 March, celebrating the maiden voyage of the ONE Eagle at Port Liberty Bayonne.

The 14,026 TEU boxship is the first vessel to call the Port of New York and New Jersey from the Premier Alliance, the new cooperation of HMM, Ocean Network Express (ONE), and Yang Ming.

ONE Eagle’s arrival was recognized with a small ceremony on board hosted by Captain Gagandeep Singh.

The Port of New York and New Jersey reported 699,240 TEUs in February, translating to a 10.6% increase compared with the same month last year.

In the first two months of the year, the US port has handled 1,419,987 TEUs.

The Port of New York and New Jersey started 2025 with strong growth in total volume and imports.

In particular, the US port handled 720,747 TEUs in January, which represents an 8% increase compared to the same month last year. Imports showed a 10.5% growth over last January’s numbers, totaling 378,632 TEUs, while exports reached 98,706 TEUs, translating to a 5.7% decrease.

January container volumes at the Port of New York and New Jersey showed continued growth at the East Coast’s largest import gateway.
