Official visit of about 30 Ambassadors at Piraeus

The Ambassadors of approximately 30 countries in Athens made an official visit, in the presence of China Ambassador to Greece Mrs. Zhang Qiyue, at the headquarters of PPA and met with the CEO of PPA S.A. Captain Fu Chengqiu and other executives of the company. After the meeting, a tour at the port facilities followed.

Hapag-Lloyd deploys vessel to handle shipment of broken down ship

According to Hapag-Lloyd’s statement, the company sent ‘Nordviolet’ in Venice, to take over shipments on the line’s Adria Express, since ‘Sadt Dresden’ suffered main engine failure when docking. The latter, unloaded its boxes to Venice, for Nordviolet to transfer them.

Mainly, the 2,700 teu ‘Stadt Dresden’ experienced engine problems due to a collision that took place on Port of Piraeus in September 2018.

Port of Piraeus accommodates one of the world’s largest container ships

One of the world’s largest container vessels, ‘COSCO shipping Pisces’, that has a capacity of 20.000 TEU, was docked at port of Piraeus on February 15, after voyaging for one month from China. This is the vessel’s first voyage, after its delivery on January 15.

After the vessel’s docking, the management of port of Piraeus Container Terminal offered a souvenir to the Master of the ship wishing the future journey of the ocean-going ship to be safe and smooth.

Port of Piraeus: Investment plan should be approved soon

The Port of Piraeus wants the Greek government to approve an investment plan for the attraction of more business to the port, as soon as possible. Cosco owns the majority of the Piraeus port.
