Port of Salalah invests in eco-efficient port equipment

Port of Salalah has invested in 16 eco-efficient rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes and three mobile harbour cranes to expand operations, improve container handling capabilities, as well as reduce its environmental impact.

Oman’s largest port has already taken delivery of 12 out of the 16 new eco-efficient RTG cranes from the heavy-duty equipment manufacturer Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC). The cranes are estimated to be operational by January 2022.

Port of Salalah partners with Maersk on a new end-to-end logistics service

Port of Salalah in Oman has partnered with Maersk to launch a new multimodal transport solution to the Al-Mazyunah free zone, as part of their regional strategy, aiming to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to attract new investors in Oman and Yemen.

Port of Salalah hits 4 million TEU record in December

The Port of Salalah, Oman’s major regional gateway port, hit an all-time record container volume of 4-million TEUs in December 2019, marking also a 19% year-on-year volume growth, according to data provided by APM Terminals.

Port of Salalah reaches productivity milestone

Port of Salalah Contingency update due to Cyclone Luban

Maersk shares an update on the current weather outlook in Oman.

Cyclone Luban is expected to make landfall south of Salalah, Oman on October 12th. High swells and strong winds are expected in Salalah.
