Canada’s Vancouver Fraser Port Authority became the first North American port and the fourth port in general to join SEALNG, the industry coalition aiming to accelerate the widespread adoption of LNG as a marine fuel.

Port of Vancouver expands noise reduction features in protection of whales

Collapsed crane removed from Port of Vancouver

Eight days after it came crashing down on a container ship, a crane that collapsed at the Port of Vancouver has been removed.

The ship-to-shore crane tipped over after the vessel, named the Ever Summit, ran into it while trying to berth at Vanterm in the middle of the night on Jan. 28.

No one was hurt, but operations at the terminal — the main spot for container loading and unloading at the Vancouver port — had been crippled ever since.

On January 28, an STS crane fell onto the container vessel ‘Ever Summit’ as the ship docked at the port of Vancouver’s global container terminal.
