Visual Navigation Involved in Maersk Ship Grounding

According to a Newsroom report, an inquiry has found Port Otago did not meet industry safety standards for monitoring when a container ship grounded on a channel bank.

Steps to reduce port Chalmers noise welcomed

Residents of Port Chalmers and surrounding areas have welcomed moves by Port Otago to mitigate the noise from visiting container ships, but are hoping for more.
