Port of St. Petersburg employees volunteer in ‘clean up’ initiative

The employees of the Sea Port of St. Petersburg conducted the traditional environmental campaign ‘Clean Island’ to clean up the coastal territory of Kanonersky Island. The volunteer clean-up day took place on Friday, April 19.

Specifically, the port employees cleaned the Putilovskaya Embankment opposite the berths of the Cargo Area 2 of the Big Port St. Petersburg picking up litter, fallen leaves, etc.

Sea port of St. Petersburg’s 2018 environment protection investments increased by 31%

In 2018 Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC continued investing in favour of its environmental sustainability. According to the company, it spent about RUB 44.5 million for environment protection measures, which is 31% higher in comparison to 2018’s expenditure figures.

Specifically, the increase was mostly based to funding of modernization of environment protection facilities and regular air quality control.

Throughput of Sea Port of St Petersburg increases by 12% in 2018

During 2018, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC handled 7.7 million tonnes of cargo showing a 12%  increase in comparison to 2017’s numbers. The increase of cargo traffic is attributed the development of yards dedicated for transshipment of cast iron, metal scrap, ore, mineral fertilizers and containers.
