Canada’s Pride Group files for bankruptcy protection, faces $100M lawsuit

One of Canada’s biggest trucking carriers has filed for bankruptcy protection after lender Mitsubishi HC Capital America filed a lawsuit seeking $100 million.

Pride Group filed Thursday for creditor protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) in Canada, which gives the company a stay of proceedings for at least 10 days.

Workhorse gets big electric truck order, but can it deliver?

Workhorse Group Inc. (NASDAQ: WKHS) booked its largest order of electric last-mile delivery vans to date. But the order is contingent on Workhorse being able to fulfill it.

Pride Group Enterprises, which operates 17 retail and rental truck locations in the U.S. and Canada, ordered 6,320 vans for delivery between this July and 2026 — five times the backlog Workhorse has for its C-650 and C-1000 battery-powered composite-body vans.

From Canada with love: Northern neighbor bullish on Tesla Semi

A Canadian trucking and logistics company has put money down on 150 Tesla electric Semis in what could be the biggest big rig order yet for the electric vehicle company.

Ontario-based Pride Group Enterprises also has the option to increase its order to 500 Tesla Semis, according to a press release.
