Kalmar and PSA Singapore renew service agreement

Kalmar signed a service contract with PSA Singapore in the fourth quarter of 2024, covering maintenance and repair work on PSA’s cargo-handling fleet.

PSA Singapore is the world’s largest container transshipment hub, handling 40.9 million TEUs in 2024.

Kalmar has been one of PSA Singapore’s service providers for the servicing and maintenance of both Kalmar and third-party equipment in Singapore. This includes equipment such as empty container handlers, terminal tractors and forklift trucks.

Container handling in Singapore yard paused after boxes fall on forklift

PSA Singapore has suspended all empty container handling operations in a yard in the Southeast Asian port, after some stacked boxes toppled onto a forklift around 6.40 am local time on 25 November.

The accident in Pasir Panjang Terminal 3 caused the forklift driver, 37, to be injured, and he was sent to the National University Hospital in a conscious state. The driver sustained superficial injuries to his head and body and is warded in a stable condition.
