Passenger Vessel Association cancels its 2021 annual convention

The Passenger Vessel Association‘s (PVA) board of directors voted earlier this month to cancel PVA’s annual convention that was scheduled to take place in February in Portland, Ore.

Yesterday, I talked with John Groundwater, executive director of the Passenger Vessel Association. Groundwater discussed the state of the passenger vessel industry, how his members are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, and what PVA is doing to help operators during this crisis. PVA has 600 members, with 300 passenger vessel operators that own and operate 2,000 vessels.

DOT awards $32.8 million in passenger ferry grants

Coast Guard inspections continue during shutdown

Coast Guard funding has lapsed due to the partial federal government shutdown, but the service is required to continue some operations and activities.
