Increased profitability for Nakilat

Qatar Gas Transportation Company (Nakilat) and its subsidiaries have announced financial results for the first half of the year ending 30th June 2024, achieving a net profit of QAR 829 million, compared to QAR 775 million for the corresponding period in 2023, an increase of 7%.

Milaha and Qatar Steel sign stevedoring services agreement

Qatar Navigation and Qatar Steel have signed a 5-year agreement to provide stevedoring services to facilitate the importing and exporting of products manufactured by Qatar Steel, including including rebars, billets, and coils.

According to the agreement, Milaha will provide Qatar Steel with a wide range of logistics and lifting services, including trailers and forklifts, in addition to manpower to execute tasks at Qatar Steel’s berth located at Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC).

Air lubrication installation deal signed by Qatar shipyard

Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions has signed a memorandum of understanding with UK-based Armada Technologies, a provider of a new hull air lubrication system. In future the two parties will collaborate on installing Armada’s Passive Air Lubrication Systems (PALS) on vessels with the aim of improving their energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Milaha sustains profitability

Qatar Navigation (Milaha) has recently announced a very positive set of results covering the first quarter of 2024. Operating revenues of QAR 747 million for the three months ending March 31st compared to QR 766 million for the same period in 2023, while the operating profit of QAR 208 million for the same three months compared to QAR 210 million for the equivalent period the the year before. Net profits were more or less unchanged at QR 365 million.
