Truckers, especially over-the-road drivers, will hit all kinds of disruptive weather this week from coast to coast.

A low-pressure system and associated cold front moved onto the West Coast late Sunday night and will continue to spread rain across the Southwest and Four Corners regions Monday and Tuesday.

Messy weekend wintry mix continues in Northern states

Truckers will hit more wet and slushy conditions this weekend from the Great Lakes to the Northeast.

Two cold fronts will produce periods of mixed precipitation — rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain — Friday and Saturday. Most travel impacts will be across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio through Friday night and early Saturday morning, then from West Virginia to Maine the rest of Saturday. Flooding impacts continue in Pacific Northwest

Roads remain closed in parts of the Northwest due to recent flooding.

Constant flow of atmospheric moisture off the Pacific into the Northwest has drenched the region since Sunday, resulting in high water, mudslides and landslides. Similar issues could arise in southern British Columbia as well.

Record rain floods parts of Northwest

A persistent atmospheric river of moisture off the Pacific has been flowing into the Northwest since the weekend. Periods of heavy rain have flooded roads and resulted in closures due to landslides.

Flood risk elevated as storms pound Pacific Northwest

As storms continue dumping snow in the high elevations of the Cascades, wet weather could be an issue for truckers in the valleys.

A few more rounds of heavy rain will hit the lowlands and coastal areas of western Washington and Oregon over the next two days, fading later Friday. State of emergency declared in Hawaii amid major flooding

Hawaii’s governor has declared a state of emergency as a major storm has left thousands of customers without electricity and continues to produce potentially “catastrophic flooding.”
