CMA CGM announces PSS from Med to US, Mexico, Canada East Coast & US Gulf

CMA CGM has announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), starting from 15 July 2024 (loading date) until further notice.

The surcharge will apply to cargo originating from the West Mediterranean, Adriatic, Black Sea, and East Med (excluding Egypt) and destined for the US East Coast, US Gulf, Mexico East Coast, and Canada East Coast.

The PSS will be US$350 per 20′ container and US$700 per 40′ and 45′ containers, applicable to all types of cargo.

HMM introduces new rate increase from India to Mediterranean

HMM India has announced a new General Rate Increase for shipments from India to North Continental Port and Mediterranean ports.

The Indian branch of the South Korean container transportation and shipping company said that effective from 28 June 2024, for loading on the FIM (Far East India Mediterranean) Service Vessel, Hyundai Tokyo 0152W, there will be a charge of US$600 per container.

Maersk announces fresh PSS implementation worldwide

Maersk will adjust the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from Oceania to several destinations worldwide from 1 July 2024.

This adjustment applies to dry containers destined for India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Mauritius, Madagascar, Reunion, Seychelles, Mozambique, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, and Djibouti.

For shipments from American Samoa, the revised surcharge will take effect from 15 July 2024.

The French carrier, CMA CGM Group, has announced an updated Peak Season Surcharge effective from 20 June 2024, until further notice.

The surcharge applies to shipments originating from all Asian ports and destined for the Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Indian Subcontinent.

CMA CGM, the French carrier, has announced that Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates will be effective from 1 July (based on the loading date at origin ports) until further notice.

European container lines introduce Asia surcharges

Two major container shipping lines, Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM, have announced new Peak Season Surcharges for shipments originating from Asia.

German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd revealed an increase in the Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from the Far East, including Oceania, to North Europe and the Mediterranean.
