Genting Hong Kong to retrofit three ships with scrubbers

Genting Hong Kong, cruise operator, informed that it will buy scrubbers as a measure to comply with the upcoming IMO 2020 sulphur cap. Specifically, the company will retrofit three of its ships with exhaust gas cleaning systems.

Genting Hong Kong will add scrubbers to three ships and LTH-Baas will do the retrofits, as the cruise operator paid the company EUR 69.1 million (USD 79.4 million).

Newport Shipping purchases 100 scrubbers

Newport Shipping has bought 100 scrubbers with options for 100 more from Chinese scrubber manufacturer Weihai Puyi Marine Environmental Technology Co (Puyier).

Port of Hueneme gets $3 million for zero emission energy project

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has awarded $3 million to the Port of Hueneme to fund their ship to shore zero emission energy project. This project is a part of a joint application with the Port of Los Angeles for the statewide Zero- and Near Zero- Emission Freight Facilities (ZANZEFF).
