Hirschbach Motor Lines acquires fellow refrigerated carrier Lessors

Hirschbach expands its temperature-controlled operations

Refrigerated carrier Hirschbach Motor Lines announced Wednesday that it has acquired Eagan, Minnesota-based carrier Lessors Inc.

The acquisition of Lessors, also a temperature-controlled operator with approximately 200 drivers and nearly 300 power units, brings the Hirschbach fleet to 2,400 drivers and owner-operators and more than 3,500 trailers.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Lessors was represented by Transport Capital Partners.

Cool Mountain Transport boosts pay in hunt for drivers

Cool Mountain Transport, an Idaho-based trucking company, recently announced it is increasing its driver pay from 50 cents to 62 cents per mile. 

It is the largest pay increase in the company’s history, according to Tork Fulton, CEO of Cool Mountain Transport. 

The company raised its base rate to 54 cents per mile and added a 4 cent-per-mile performance bonus and a 4 cent-per-mile safety bonus.

Leonard’s Express acquires Holman Transportation

Refrigerated truckload carrier Leonard’s Express announced Thursday it had acquired Holman Transportation.

Founded in 1997, Holman Transportation is a family-owned TL carrier located in Caldwell, Idaho, operating 164 trucks with 189 employees. The company transports temperature-controlled goods for the food and grocery, dairy, and frozen food products sectors. Its primary coverage area is the Pacific Northwest but its fleet hauls in 39 states.
