Hydrogen-powered RIB H2Ocean set for sea trials

Hydrogen as a marine fuel continues to make inroads into new sectors. Now, two Christchurch, New Zealand-based companies have collaborated to design a hydrogen fueled rigid inflatable boat (RIB), the H2Ocean. The companies, zero-emission transition technology specialist Fabrum and RIB builder King Watercraft, say that the H2Ocean is suitable for tourism, commercial and leisure activities and will begin sea trials in January 2025.

Armstrong Marine building bay tour boat for San Francisco

Tour company Bay Voyager will add the 11.3mx4m (37’x13′) RIB to its fleet this spring. Designed by Naiad and currently under construction at Armstrong Marine USA’s Port Angeles, Wash., production facility, the new monohull will feature a semi-open cabin design with full width aft canopy and heavy duty fendering system.

Armstrong Marine completes Naiad pilot boat for Mexico

Armstrong Marine USA recently delivered Piloto VIII to support marine pilotage operations in and around the Port of Manzanillo, Mexico.

Designed by Naiad and built at Armstrong’s Port Angeles production facility, the 9.5m (31′) x 3.3m (11′) RIB features a walk around cabin, storage cuddy, Northern Lights 6kW generator, and seating for four. The foam collar system is coated with Rhino TuffGrip for durable fendering.

Zodiac Milpro shows off RIB and rubber raiding craft

Zodiac Milpro brought two vessels to the floor of the International WorkBoat Show this year — a 15’5″x6’3″ Combat Rubber Raiding Craft and a 14’5″x6’4″ rigid hull inflatable boat (RIB).

Lake Assault Boats delivers patrol boat to Wisconsin

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, Hudson, Wis., took delivery of a 24′ custom-built Lake Assault Boats, Superior, Wis., rigid hull inflatable boat (RIB) in time to serve during this summer’s active July 4th holiday weekend.
