Port of Felixstowe, DFDS invest to boost Ro-Ro capacity

The UK Port of Felixstowe and Danish ferry operator DFDS have agreed to increase roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) capacity at the port by over 40% through investment in a new linkspan, tractor units and additional trailer parking facilities.

Port of Amsterdam reaches new transhipment record in 2018

According to port of Amsterdam’s press release, the port reached a new transhipment record in 2018 with its overall transhipment reaching 82.3 million tonnes, in comparison to the 81.3 million tonnes in 2017. The port along with other ports in the North Sea Canal Area, the total transhipment amounted to 101.8 million tonnes in 2018.

Dredging begun at UK port in case of no deal Brexit

Work started on January 3 to extend a small British port that would be able to be a back-up if the UK leaves the European Union with a no trade deal. The dredging at the port at Ramsgate could assist in mitigating possible congestion.

Ferry catches fire off Indonesia
