Authorities name three suspects over Norwegian frigate collision

Norwegian police said it has named three suspects over the collision of the Norwegian frigate ‘KNM Helge Ingstad’ with the the Maltese-flagged oil tanker ‘Sola TS’ off Bergen, in November 2018.

In the early hours of Thursday 8 November, seven people were slightly injured after the Norwegian frigate ‘KNM Helge Ingstad’ collided with the Maltese-flagged oil tanker ‘Sola TS’ off Bergen, Norway. The warship developed dangerous list and all of its 137 crew were evacuated.

PSA: Walkway incident on Tambar field could have been fatal

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has completed the investigation of the Movement-compensated walkway incident on the Tambar field in July 2018, revealing several breaches of safety regulations. The Authority noted that Tambar is the only facility in operation in Norway, where an attempt has been made to land a walkway from a ship.

Arrest warrant sought for Polaris Shipping CEO over Stellar Daisy sinking

The Busan Coast Guard has requested a warrant of arrest for the chairman of Polaris Shipping, the South Korean shipping company which owned the ill-fated bulk carrier Stellar Daisy.

The Busan Coast Guard said the writ has been requested against Kim Wan-joong and two other officials of Polaris Shipping on the ‘charge of violation of shipping safety law‘, according to data provided by Yonhap news agency. A court hearing is set for Thursday to decide on his arrest.

Crews still violate Indian ban on use of satellite phones
