Construction work has begun at MEYER WERFT in Papenburg on the second new ship for the British shipping company Saga Cruises. The shipyard started its steel-cutting process for Spirit of Adventure. The second new build for Saga Cruises is to be delivered in summer 2020.

Cruise Liner On Her First and Last Call to PE

Transnet National Ports Authority’s (TNPA) Port of PE welcomed the MV Saga Pearl II cruise liner at its quayside today. Previously known as MV Astor, when she was owned by Safmarine from 1981 to 1985, the vessel is on her first and last call to the port.

Saga Pearl II’s normal itinerary is based on round-trip cruises from the UK ports of Dover and Southampton to the Norway fjords, the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and even South America with transatlantic crossings.
