The container vessel Haian City, which was damaged severely from the collision with an oil tanker in the Bay of Bengal on 14 April, remains stranded for the last seven days.

The 1,400 TEU boxhsip Haian City was damaged severely after being hit by an oil tanker in the Kutubia area in the Bay of Bengal.

The incident occurred on 14 April when Haian City was en route from the port of Chittagong, Bangladesh to the port of Singapore.

Samudera enhances its network in Vietnam

Samudera Shipping Line has joined a growing list of carriers that are expanding their services to Vietnam.

On 11 June, the Singapore-based feeder operator started the Central Vietnam Service (CVS) to connect Singapore with Da Nang and Qui Nhon in Central Vietnam. The company will deploy the 1,060TEU vessel, Sinar Bandung on the CVS, which has a 10-day turnaround.

SITC eyes intra-Asia growth with fleet expansion

Hong Kong-based intra-Asia carrier SITC Container Lines has expanded its fleet as it targets the lucrative intra-Asia market which it says will grow.
