Saudi Global Ports acquires 80 electric prime movers

In a move towards a more sustainable port ecosystem, Saudi Global Ports (SGP) has acquired 80 electric prime movers (e-PMs) from SANY Marine Heavy Industry for use at the container terminals of King Abdulaziz Port Dammam (KAPD).

Along with the e-PMs, SANY will provide charging stations and relevant training for SGP employees to maintain and service the e-PMs and charging stations.

Saudi Global Ports boosts capacity with new quay and RTG cranes

Saudi Global Ports (SGP) has received three Quay Cranes (QC) with automation capabilities and three Hybrid Automated Rubber Tyre Gantry Cranes (RTGs) at King Abdulaziz Port Dammam (KAPD).

This new equipment will increase SGP’s capacity from 2.5 million to 3.2 million TEUs, augmenting their current fleet of 15 QCs and 47 RTGs.

Dammam Port kicks off container terminal project to raise capacity to 7.5 million TEUs

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has commenced works for upgrading and developing two box terminals at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concession signed with Saudi Global Ports (SGP) valued at over US$1.8 billion.

Saudi Global Ports to upgrade container terminals in Dammam

The Saudi port operator, Saudi Global Ports (SGP) has announced the first phase of its upgrading and development programme at First and Second Container Terminals in King Abdulaziz Port Dammam (KAPD).
