Scan Global Logistics enters Swiss market with new acquisition

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has completed its third acquisition this year by adding Switzerland-based transportation and logistics provider Belglobe to its growing global portfolio across 48 countries.

With the acquisition of Belglobe, SGL is expected to gain immediate proximity to multinational companies’ central procurement and supply chain management. Additionally, another advantage is Switzerland’s proximity to major European markets such as Germany, France, Italy, and Austria.

Another acquisition for Scan Global as Spain’s Grupo Contenosa joins the ‘family’

Acquisitive Scan Global Logistics, which has lofty ambitions in the freight forwarding space, has agreed to buy Spain’s Grupo Contenosa.
Scan’s Spanish arm, SGL Spain, will join forces with the newly acquired family-owned forwarder, making the pair a “significant player” in the market, claimed the company.

Supply chains unravel as Myanmar military escalates retaliation to protests

Scan Global Logistics has snapped-up Werner Global Logistics (WGL), the air and ocean forwarding arm of major US trucking brokerage Werner Enterprises.

Industry veteran Bruno Sidler joins advisory council of SGL TransGroup

Former Panalpina CEO Bruno Sidler (pictured above) has joined the SGL TransGroup team as industrial advisor.
