Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg unveils digital system of production control

The Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC has put into operation the information and logistics system of production control ILSAR.

The new digital system allows for a real-time obtaining and processing of data at all phases of cargo operations, “from the moment cargo is shipped to the port to the moment it is delivered to a customer,” according to the port’s statement.

Port of Saint-Petersburg introduces new ecological equipment

As part of environmental programme of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding), a specialized vacuum cleaning machine with water system of dust suppression was put into operation in July 2019. UCL Port companies see increased cargo volumes

In the first quarter of 2019, companies of UCL Port, stevedoring division of UCL Holding, handled 9.9 million tonnes of cargo, up 6%, year-on-year. The growth was driven by increased transshipment of oil cargo.

In the reporting period, transshipment of dry cargo grew by 1.4% to 7.7 million tonnes. Transshipment of oil cargo increased by 26% to 2.2 million tonnes with the handling of additional volumes in Tuapse and Taganrog.

Throughput of Port of Saint-Petersburg grew

In 2018, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC handled 7.7 million tonnes of cargo showing a 12-pct increase versus the result of 2017. The increase of cargo traffic is attributed the development of yards dedicated for transshipment of cast iron, metal scrap, ore, mineral fertilizers and containers.

Development program of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg

From the beginning of 2018, Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (SP SPb, a company of UCL Holding) allocated RUB 413.5 million for implementation of its development program.

More than 80% of the amount was allocated for the purchase of new equipment. In particular, the port made advance payment for two full-revolving electric portal cranes Vityaz, one of which is already being installed on the berth.
