South America’s largest box terminal enhances RTG crane fleet and expands reefer capacity

The manager of the Paranaguá container terminal, Terminal de Contêineres de Paranaguá (TCP), has purchased 11 rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, as part of a series of investments in the infrastructure of the Brazilian box terminal, which is the largest one in South America.

The package includes new equipment, an increased capacity to receive and store reefer containers, and new accesses and systems.

Belgian terminal automation firm to fully automate Chinese terminal

Camco Technologies, a Belgian terminal automation company, has announced new contracts by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Company Limited (ZPMC) for Beibu Gulf Port Qinzhou greenfield fully automated terminal.

In particular, two contracts were awarded in December to Camco’s new China office by ZPMC, the world’s largest crane builder and general contractor for the Beibu Gulf Port Qinzhou greenfield fully automated terminal, located in the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
