Silver Ships delivers 25th Marine Corps AASB boat

Theodore, Ala.-headquartered shipbuilder Silver Ships, a specialist in military aluminum workboats, has completed, tested and delivered a new Assault Amphibian Safety Boat (AASB) for the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy. Silver Ships has now delivered 25 of 31 AASB vessels on time since production has been in place. A noteworthy achievement of this project is that the first hull was built and tested less than nine months after the initial contract was awarded.

Silver Ships delivers first four in new coastal fast response boat series

Silver Ships CFRB

Theodore, Ala., based Silver Ships has completed the construction and delivery of the first four coastal fast response boats (CFRBss) being built under a $6.12 million, seven-boat Naval Sea Systems Command contract award. These first vessels were designed and constructed under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program and will go to NATO partners. The other three boats support a Central American navyon delivery. Each vessel was inspected in Alabama and accepted by the Navy.

Silver Ships delivers RHIB customized for NOAA research requirements

Theodore, Ala., based Silver Ships Inc. recently delivered a customized Ambar Series vessel to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The custom-built Ambar 6 meter (AM600) is designed to be operated from NOAA oceangoing ships. At just under 28 feet in length, with a hull length of 20 feet 5 inches, it has an 8 feet 10 inches beam and 22 inch draft.
