Nauticor conducts first STS LNG bunkering at Brunsbüttel

Hamburg-based Nauticor, conducted its first ever ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation at the Elbehafen Brunsbüttel, part of Brunsbüttel Ports, the first at a German port. The vessel bunkered LNG to DEME’s TSHD Scheldt River delivering a total of 300 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

Monjasa completes first STS supply of new VLSFO

Danish bunker company, Monjasa, announced that it completed its first ship-to-ship supply for the new very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) in light of the approaching IMO 2020 regulations. The operation was completed in Southampton, UK and included supply of VLSFO and MGO.

Specifically, Vinga Safir, operated by Monjasa, conducted ship-to-shore operations with the roro cargo vessel Hurst Point, in Southampton, on August 29 and supplied VLSFO and MGO 0.1%.

World’s largest crane vessel conducts record LNG bunkering

Titan LNG, Dutch LNG supplier, conducted the largest LNG bunkering in the world with Heerema Marine Contractors’ new semi-submersible crane vessel. The vessel was supplied with over 3,000 tonnes of LNG.

This is the largest quantity of LNG that has ever been bunkered and proves that this upcoming fuel is available anywhere now, as Titan LNG reported.

Petronas completes second STS LNG transfer

Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS), through its subsidiary PETRONAS LNG Ltd (PLL), announced another successful completion of LNG break bulk ship-to-ship transfer, that was recently conducted in Brunei Bay.

Specifically, the break bulk operations consisted of the fully loaded Seri Bijaksana vessel carrying LNG cargo from Gladstone LNG, Australia, transferring smaller parcels onto two other vessels for onward deliveries to different LNG terminals in Shanghai, China.

Royal Navy vessel identifies evasion of North Korea sanctions

The North Korean-flagged tanker Saebyol, which was transmitting as a fishing boat, was spotted alongside a vessel of unknown nationality on the high seas, conducting a prohibited ship-to-ship transfer as the Royal Navy reported.

The two vessels were spotted on March 2, by a Royal Navy frigate which was operating in the East China Sea in cooperation with Japan, enforcing the UN sanctions against North Korea.
