Norway-based Syncrolift has been awarded a contract to supply a shiplift to Cochin Shipyard, the largest shipbuilding and maintenance facility in India. The new shiplift will have a lifting capacity of 6,000 tons and delivery is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2021.

Grandweld ends 2019 on a high

Dubai’s Grandweld Shipyard has ended the year with a significant contract win, giving it strong momentum as it enters 2020. Colombo Dockyard sets up Hambantota presence

Bahri confirms VLCC order

Saudi vessel owner and operator Bahri has signed an agreement with International Maritime Industries (IMI), and subsequently entered into a sub-contract arrangement with South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), to build a 319,000 dwt VLCC tanker, with delivery expected in October 2021.

Cochin Shipyard launches ro-pax ships

The launching of two ro-pax vessels, designed and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited, for Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) took place on 8th August 2019, underlining the yard’s growing involvement in this sector of the shipping market. The vessels launched are the third and fourth in a series of ten ships, comprising eight ro-pax and two ro-ro type vessels, ordered by IWAI.
