Indonesia’s Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) has arrested an unregistered vessel carrying nearly 100 tons of illegal diesel in the waters of Batam, Riau Islands, on Monday.
The Bakamla patrol vessel ‘KN Belut Laut’ caught the wooden vessel off Rempang Island, a small island located southeast of Batam. There were five people onboard at the time.

Nigeria arrests nine for possessing firearms onboard
On Thursday, the Nigerian Navy handed over nine suspected pirates to the Interpol unit of the Nigeria Police, for allegedly possessing firearms and suspected crude oil within the Nigerian maritime domain.

Authorities seize $38 million worth of cocaine in Port of Philadelphia
A multi-agency examination of imported shipping containers, led by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), netted 1,185 pounds of cocaine at the Port of Philadelphia, Tuesday.

Hong Kong Customs seize record smuggling of pangolin and ivory tusks
Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department and the Mainland Customs jointly seized approximately 8,300 kilograms of pangolin scales and 2,100 kilograms of ivory tusks from a shipping container at the port of Kwai Chung, on January 16. The estimated market value was about $62 million.
