Recently delivered by Snow & Company, Inc., Seattle, Wash., to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), RV Resilience is the Department of Energy’s very first hybrid electric-diesel research vessel. .

Designed by Incat Crowther, the 15 meter vessel is the Department of Energy’s very first hybrid electric-diesel research vessel and will help PNNL sustainably expand its research activities in the Sequim Bay region of Washington State.

PNNL hybrid research vessel hits the water

Seattle-based Snow & Company recently launched the 50-foot plug-in hybrid research vessel it is building for the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) into Lake Washington.

The vessel, the R/V Resilience, is set for for delivery to the PNNL-Sequim campus, in Sequim, Wash., in 2024. The Seqim campus houses the only marine research facilities in the Department of Energy.

PNNL is managed for the Department of Energy by Battelle and Snow calls the vessel its “battle cat.”

Savannah Pilots take delivery of new pilot boat

In early March 2022, Snow & Company of Seattle, Wash., handed off Savannah, the first of two new 64-foot aluminum pilot boats to the Savannah Pilots Association.

Designed by Camarc Design of the U.K., the single chine, flush deck 5086 aluminum vessel is the third pilot boat that Camarc has designed for the Savannah pilots.
