Philly Shipyard Inc. yesterday held a steel cutting ceremony to mark the start of construction on the first of three 3,600 TEU Aloha class LNG-fueled containerships to be built for Honolulu-headquartered Matson Navigation Company Inc.

Representatives from Philly Shipyard and Matson gathered for short remarks before Regis Burkhardt, Matson site team manager, pushed the button of the shipyard’s state of the art plasma cutter to officially begin production.

Philly Shipyard delivers Patriot State

Philly Shipyard Inc. yesterday delivered the Patriot State, the second of five new purpose-built, state-of-the-art training vessels for America’s state maritime academies.

TOTE Services and Philly Shipyard christen second NSMV Patriot State

TOTE Services LLC and Philly Shipyard yesterday christened the second of five National Security Multi-Mission vessels (NSMVs), Patriot State, with U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro and other key officials on hand to celebrate the milestone.

Philly Shipyard books contract for fifth NSMV
