Ocean freight forwarder Panalpina and CMA CGM, signed a sustainability agreement to reduce their carbon emissions by 2025. As of 2020, newbuild LNG-powered mega-vessels with a capacity of 22,000 TEUs will help achieve the environmental goals.

Italy proposes tax ease for sustainable shipping companies

Port of Long Beach to lead energy resiliency project

The Port of Long Beach will build a $7.1 million ‘microgrid’ to show the present new technology’s effectiveness in providing a clean, reliable supply of electricity for critical operations at the US’s second-busiest seaport.

First coffee store built from recycled shipping containers opens in Taiwan

Starbucks, the international coffee brand, opened its first store in Asia Pacific built from recycled shipping containers. Located in Taiwan, the 320-square-metres store was structured by 29 recycled shipping containers to complete the company’s commitment to building sustainable stores.

Wärtsilä eyes 15% GHG reduction from gas engines by 2020
