Project freight allows Radiant to overcome ‘pretty tough’ market

Radiant Logistics beat quarterly expectations Monday, but the bulk of the outperformance came from hurricane-related restocking opportunities. The company noted a still difficult operating environment but sounded more constructive on a recovery in the coming quarters.

AFS Logistics names Andy Dyer new CEO

Freight payments and audit company AFS Logistics announced Wednesday that Andy Dyer is its new CEO. Dyer has been the 3PL’s head of transportation management the past four years. The news release made no reference to former CEO Tom Nightingale.

Nightingale was a vocal leader of the company, appearing at industry events discussing the company’s quarterly dataset for truckload, less-than-truckload and parcel rates. Nightingale was named AFS’ CEO in 2020.

Mega port operator PSA to buy US freight forwarder BDP

PSA International, a global port operator owned by the Singaporean government, said Wednesday it has agreed to acquire Philadelphia-based freight management company BDP International, building on the trend of asset-based transportation providers expanding to offer customers an end-to-end logistics services.

Logistics giant announces succession plan for CEO Trefzger

Kuehne + Nagel, the second largest third-party logistics provider in the world by gross revenue, announced Tuesday that CEO Detlef Trefzger will step down for personal reasons and be replaced by Stefan Paul, the head of road logistics and sales, effective Aug. 1.
