Concor to run inland services from Chennai Port

Container Corporation of India (Concor) will begin train services from the Chennai Port to its inland container depot (ICD) located at Tondiarpet from September 16, the state-run rail hauler of containers said in a trade notice on Thursday, Sep 12.

The rail freight for moving laden containers between Chennai Port and Tondiarpet ICD has been set at ₹2,100 for a twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and ₹3,300 for a forty-foot equivalent unit (FEU), the company said.

Lineas doubles its train capacity to reduce Oosterweel traffic jams

To lessen the impact of the Oosterweel works on Belgian mobility, rail freight operator Lineas is doubling the capacity on its trains in and out of Antwerp. This doubling means the number of containers that can be removed from traffic and put on the railways will increase from 2,600 to 5,300 a week.

Container train from Belarus arrives in China

20 new train services in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Pakistan Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed in his New Year’s resolution on Tuesday vowed to launch 20 new train services in 2019.

In a video message to mark the start of the new year, he said the railway employees who were not discharging their duties diligently will be sent packing.

First ever dedicated freight train

KARACHI: First ever dedicated freight train loaded with 75 cargo containers commenced its journey from Karachi’s Cantonment Railway Station to Lahore.

The freight train is being launched under public-private partnership. The expected journey time is 48 hours.

China Railway Express delivers oranges to Europe

China Railway Express opened its first exclusive train for oranges Thursday (Nov. 8) afternoon, starting from Yichang, a city in central China’s Hubei Province, with Moscow as the destination.
