Independent Container Line moves UK call from Liverpool to Southampton

Niche transatlantic carrier Independent Container Line (ICL) is to move its UK call from Liverpool to Southampton to improve schedule reliability.
The US-headquartered, privately-owned shipping line has been serving Liverpool for the past 20 years, calling at the Mersey port along with Antwerp in a two-port North European hub strategy.

APL files with FMC to buy slots on Hapag-Lloyd’s US flag transatlantic service

After last week revealing that CMA CGM-owned container carrier APL was to concentrate on the transpacific and intra-Asia trades, it appeared it is now set to make a partial return to the transatlantic market.

$150m profit turnaround for Hapag-Lloyd in Q1, ‘but Q2 will be tougher’

Hapag-Lloyd recorded a net profit of $109m in the first quarter as the carrier benefited from increased volumes and average freight rate gains on most of its liner trades.

WEC Lines to follow Cosco into port of Liverpool with service to Portugal

Operating results for bellwether OOCL suggest good news for carriers

2M makes Liverpool transatlantic TA4 call permanent

The UK port of Liverpool has secured a transatlantic service to the US east coast after the 2M partner of Maersk Line and MSC decided to make the temporary TA4 call permanent.
