Shippers not satisfied with surcharges and transit times, survey says

The level of satisfaction regarding container carriers among exporters, importers, and freight forwarders reduced marginally, according to the third annual shipper satisfaction survey of Drewry and the European Shippers’ Council (ESC).

Russian wheat exports keeping a steady pace during December

Despite the ups and downs on wheat exports, Russian shipments kept a steady pace until the end of 2018 because of the absence of export restrictions from the country’s authorities. In other words, Russian wheat exports experienced an unprecedented increase to 1.2 million tonnes the last week of December. Yet, the trade is expected to be lowered the holiday season, between Dec 30 to January 8, as stated by Reuters.

Panama Canal expects 234 cruise ships this season

Panama Canal expects approximately 234 cruise ships to pass through its locks during the 2018-2019 season, which begins on Friday, 5 October, with the passage of the ‘Seven Seas Mariner’, traveling from the west coast to the east coast of the United States.
