Trimble’s (NYSE: TRMB) newly released Transporeon report identifies overcapacity and nearshoring as two of several key factors impacting the future of the truckload transportation sector in North America.

The report analyzes market trends and data based on survey responses from Indago supply chain research community members as well as the Transporeon shipper and carrier community, according to an emailed news release Wednesday from Trimble.

Insurtech company Cover Whale announced it has closed on $27.5 million in debt and equity funding managed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital to continue growing its platform and solutions.

Trimble records Q1 transportation revenue of $195M

Supply chain technology provider Trimble Inc. posted first-quarter transportation and logistics revenue of $195 million, a 33% year-over-year (y/y) increase.

CEO Rob Painter said Trimble’s transportation and logistics segment was boosted by strong bookings from the company’s Transporeon unit.

Transporeon is a Germany-based logistics company that uses a cloud-based TMS to connect carriers, logistics service providers and shippers. Trimble acquired the company in December 2022 for $1.98 billion.

FreightWise acquires TMS provider Kuebix from Trimble

Nashville,Tennessee-based FreightWise has acquired transportation management system software provider Kuebix from Trimble Inc.

The acquisition was announced Thursday and comes just over a year after Trimble announced it was shutting down Kuebix as the company pivoted to another platform.
