Port Houston remains closed as the Texas Gulf Coast continues to feel the impact of Tropical Storm Nicholas, which has been pounding the area with high winds, rain and flooding over the last 24 hours.

Officials warn of Tropical Storm Nicholas’ potential ‘life-threatening flash floods’

Nicholas made landfall early Tuesday morning along the Texas coast as a Category 1 hurricane, pummeling eastern portions of the state with fierce winds, heavy rain and flooding.

Port Houston to close terminals to prepare for Tropical Storm Nicholas

Port Houston will close its container terminals in preparation for Tropical Storm Nicholas, which is expected to produce a significant flooding threat around the greater Houston area.

Tropical Storm Nicholas prompts port restrictions, flood watches
