On Wednesday, the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) released its annual report on the operational costs of trucking. The report, which has been published annually since 2008, is based on motor carrier financial and operations data from 2021.

Driver shortage again No. 1 concern — Taking the Hire Road

The American Transportation Research Institute’s (ATRI) annual survey of the top industry issues found that the driver shortage was the No. 1 issue for the fifth year in a row.

Trucking braces for uphill cost climb in 2022

After taking advantage of unexpected cost savings and profit windfalls caused by a historic pandemic, the trucking industry is already facing an uphill climb that could result in carriers closing shop.
