Texas trucking company fined $44K for Oregon fuel spill

A Texas carrier is being fined $44,191 by Oregon regulators for failing to help clean up diesel fuel spilled after an accident on Interstate 84 last year.

A truck owned by Dallas-based Marko Transport overturned and crashed near the city of Pendleton, Oregon, on Nov. 26, 2021, spilling about 100 gallons of diesel fuel and closing a 50-mile stretch of I-84 eastbound for nine hours.

Hazmat crews responded to the crash site to deal with the fuel spill, according to news reports.

Truck driver killed in Louisiana after load crashes through cab

A truck driver was killed in Louisiana on Monday when a heavy load he was transporting on a trailer came loose and smashed into the trailer cab.

Jason Gilbert, 52, of Gray, Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle accident, which occurred just after 8:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 90 and Bayou Gauche Road, about 30 miles west of New Orleans, authorities said.

Flatbed truck crash in Louisiana under investigation (with video)

The cause of a tractor-trailer barreling off a highway and bursting into flames in Rayne, Louisiana, is under investigation.

The incident occurred Thursday when a flatbed truck belonging to Lake Charles, Louisiana-based Pappillion Trucking traveling east on Interstate 10 left the roadway, drove down an embankment, crossed a street, crashed onto private property and caught fire.

Rayne is located along I-10, between Lake Charles and Lafayette, Louisiana.
