TS Lines-operated ship suffers wrecked bow in port mishap

A container ship operated by TS Lines sustained severe damage to its bow after an accident in Taichung port, Taiwan.

The Maritime Port Bureau stated that the 1,049 TEU feeder vessel, Asiatic Sun, knocked into Pier 8A on the morning of 26 December, around 7.33 am local time.

TS Lines books four more newbuildings at Chinese yards

Taiwanese liner operator TS Lines has enhanced its fleet again with more newbuilding orders at Chinese shipyards.

Schoeller Holdings sells its boxship fleet in leaseback deal

Schoeller Holdings has sold its 17 containerships to China Development Bank Financial Leasing in a leaseback arrangement.

TS Lines new service links China to New Zealand

The Taiwanese shipping line TS Lines has launched a new service that will connect Chinese ports with New Zealand.

The first container ship of the new service departed the port of Quingdao on Monday, 27 September and after calling four other ports in China, it will serve Tauranga and Auckland via Metroport.

The new TS Lines service will have the following rotation: Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Shekou – Tauranga

TS Lines recovers investment through record vessel charter

Taiwanese intra-Asia carrier TS Lines has recouped the US$6 million it paid to acquire a 2007-built, 2,500TEU ship, after chartering out the vessel for a record amount.

TS Lines orders six 1,100TEU ships at Fujian Mawei

Taiwanese feeder operator TS Lines has ordered six 1,100TEU ships at China’s Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding as the company continues to increase its owned fleet.

The ships will be delivered in March 2023, while the newbuilding contract was inked on 5 August.

The vessels contracted at Fujian Mawei will be based on a design produced by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI). More than 100 ships of this design have been contracted and delivered.

TS Lines orders an additional 1,900TEU boxship

Taiwanese intra-Asia carrier TS Lines has ordered another 1,900TEU ship from CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, adding to the four similar units that it has already ordered at the yard.

The newbuilding contract was signed on 20 July, on the same day that TS Lines took delivery of the 2,700TEU TS Nansha. The price was not disclosed but each of the 1,900TEU ships that TS Lines ordered earlier is now valued at around US$36 million.
