Abu Dhabi-based Noatum Maritime has taken delivery of its first LNG-powered Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC), which will be deployed within the new United Global Ro-Ro venture formed recently with Erkport of Turkey. The newbuilding, named Ugr Al Samha, features 12 decks covering a total area of 59, 331 m2 and has a capacity of more than 7000 car equivalent units (CEUs).

New South Container Terminal inaugurated in Jeddah port

DP World and the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) have officially inaugurated the new South Container Terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port, following a three-year project that has more than doubled its capacity from 1.8 million to 4 million TEU a year. The expansion also opens the way for further expansion to a capacity of 5 million TEU, with additional ship-to-shore equipment scheduled to be deployed as demand grows.

RAK Ports promotes Saqr 2.0 project

RAK Ports in Ras al Khaimah has in recent weeks launched its new Saqr 2.0 deep water port development project, which will focus on the liquid bulk, project cargo and break bulk segments, while also developing facilities for shiprepair and recycling.

Safaga terminal equipment investment gathers pace

AD Ports Group is preparing to receive three new Panamax ship-to-shore cranes from Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Dubai port sets automotive traffic record

DP World UAE achieved a new milestone in 2024, handling a record 1.3 million vehicles across its ro-ro terminals in Dubai. This marks a 53.6% increase from the previous year and is the highest in the company’s history.
