FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) disclosed on Tuesday its holiday shipping deadlines for domestic packages that need to arrive on or before Christmas Eve, which this year falls on Sunday.

Postal Service loss widens in fiscal 3rd quarter 

The U.S. Postal Service continues to bleed red ink.

In its fiscal 2023 third quarter, which ended June 30, the Postal Service lost $860 million on an adjusted, non-GAAP basis, compared with an adjusted $459 million loss. On a GAAP basis, the net loss was $1.7 billion, compared to net income of $59.7 million in the year-earlier quarter. 

Operating revenue declined 0.9% to $18.6 billion, the Postal Service said.

Study: US annual parcel shipping volumes to grow 5% through 2028

U.S. parcel shipping activity is expected to grow 5% per year over the next five years, continuing what is expected to be an increase over pre-pandemic volume projections despite a slowdown in 2022, according to an annual parcel shipping index published Tuesday by global shipping and mailing company Pitney Bowes Inc.

Postal Service posts net loss, small revenue gain in fiscal Q1

The U.S. Postal Service on Thursday reported that revenue in its fiscal 2023 first quarter, which included the holiday season, rose 1% over year-earlier levels to $21.5 billion, while total volumes declined 4.8% to 1.7 billion pieces.

Shipping and packages revenue rose 2.4% to $8.8 billion, up from $8.637 billion in the year-earlier period. Shipping and package volume fell 3.5%, or 70 million pieces, compared with the same period a year ago.
