New WinGD short-stroke engine completes successful shop test

Swiss-headquartered engine developer WinGD, a member of the CSSC Group, says that its new X-S short-stroke engine is set for its first installation following successful factory acceptance tests at CSSC Group’s Dalian Marine Diesel in March. The six-cylinder, 62-centimeter 6X62-S2.0 engine will be installed on a pulp carrier being built for a Chinese owner at COSCO Dalian shipyard.

Two new LNG dual-fueled vessels being built for NYK Line will be the first with two-stroke engines featuring the variable compression ratio (VCR) technology announced by Swiss-headquartered engine developer WinGD back in June.
