Taskin Torlak, a 37-year old Turkish national, was arrested in Miami, Nov. 2, and is currently being held in the Miami Federal Detention Center. He has been charged with conspiring to violate U.S. sanctions in a dark fleet scheme to transport oil from Venezuela for the benefit of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PdVSA), Venezuela’s state-owned oil and natural gas company.
