What happened?

Container ship was reported as disabled after fire in engine room, adrift south of San Francisco, on May 14.

The ship’s en route from Vancouver to Oakland, understood she was looping back and forth off the coast, waiting for berth window.

The ship was adrift as of 1640 UTC May 14, with approaching tug, bulk carrier nearby.

Heavy lift cargo ship IMKE ran aground while approaching Ogdensburg, northernmost port in New York State, St. Lawrence Seaway, at around 1830 UTC August 8.
