Vigor completes USNS John Lewis (T-AO 205) PSA

Vigor Marine LLC, Portland, Oregon, reports that it has completed a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) on USNS John Lewis (T-AO 205) at its Swan Island shipyard. The first-in-class Military Sealift Command vessel will head into active service following the eight-month availability, as the lead ship in the John Lewis-class fleet replenishment oilers. Vigor names Jayson Robertson VP of fabrication

Portland, Oregon, headquartered Vigor has named Jayson Robinson its vice president of fabrication, taking the helm of the complex and marine fabrication divisions with facilities in Clackamas and Portland, in Oregon, and Vancouver in Washington State.

NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems Command), Washington, D.C., has awarded three shipyards contract modifications worth a total of more than $202.6 million. All are firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity modification to previously-awarded multiple award contracts for complex and non-complex emergent and continuous maintenance and CNO availabilities in the Pacific Northwest. Fincantieri Marinette Marine (FMM) and Vigor (Team RB-M) have delivered the first three of a six vessel RB-M contract to the U.S. Coast Guard. The 45’x14.7′ boats are part of a Foreign Military Sale to The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Coast Guard. Hulls four through six are expected to ship in 2020. Washington state gets new funding for hybrid ferry conversion
