Motive unclear in fatal shootings of 2 warehouse workers

Investigators are still trying to determine why a longtime warehouse employee fatally shot two co-workers at a Roundy’s Wisconsin distribution center late Tuesday before turning the gun on himself following a police chase. 

In a news conference on Thursday, Oconomowoc Police Chief James Pfister said his officers were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday to the Roundy’s distribution center.

CN eyes opportunities in Upper Midwest with new inland terminal

Canadian railway CN (NYSE: CNI) seeks to expand its reach into the Upper Midwest through a new inland distribution terminal in New Richmond, Wisconsin.

The facility will have an automotive compound for finished vehicles, as well as an intermodal terminal for shippers and receivers of greater Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. The railway expects the facility to open on March 1.

US DOT grants benefit handful of freight rail projects

New highway grade crossings affecting BNSF and funding for improvements at the ports of Tulsa, Tampa and Houston are among the projects that have been awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) discretionary grant program.
