WiseTech board members resign over governance dispute

WiseTech Global, one of the largest providers of cloud-based logistics execution software, is in turmoil after four independent members of the board resigned Monday in a power dispute involving founder and former CEO Richard White.

The Sydney-based developer of CargoWise software, which is used by many freight forwarders, cargo airlines and other freight companies, said non-executive board members will resign after the company’s half-year results are released on Wednesday.

WiseTech reports strong financial figures

WiseTech has achieved strong growth in its financial results for the period July-December 2022, which is the first half of the company’s financial year 2023.

In particular, WiseTech increased its total revenue by 35%, compared with the same period last year, reaching US$258 million. In addition, the company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 36% to approximately US$13 million.

WiseTech acquires Blume Global

WiseTech Global, an Australia-based developer of the logistics execution software CargoWise, has acquired privately held Blume Global, a solution provider for North American intermodal rail in North America, for US$414 million.
