The Women in Trucking Association (WIT) on Monday released a list of the 84 Top Women to Watch in Transportation.

The editorial staff of WIT’s Redefining the Road magazine selected the individuals based on their career accomplishments and efforts to promote gender diversity in the past 12 to 18 months.

Women In Trucking names 3 Driver of the Year finalists

The Women in Trucking Association announced finalists for the Driver of the Year award.

The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) narrowed its nominees for the 2022 Driver of the Year award to three finalists on Tuesday, International Women’s Day.

This third-annual award is sponsored by Walmart Transportation and recognizes “outstanding female professional drivers who lead the industry in safety standards while actively enhancing the public image of the trucking industry,” a release said.

Sparks, heir apparent to Voie as head of Women in Trucking, resigns

Deborah Ruane Sparks, the heir apparent to Ellen Voie as president and CEO of the Women in Trucking Association Inc. (WIT), has resigned to become the executive director of the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA), which oversees the system that classifies commodities for transportation based on several shipment characteristics.
