Maersk aims to cover itself with an alternative to cargo insurance

Maersk Line is launching what it claims is an alternative to cargo insurance in response to the rising number of shipments consigned without cover.
According to the carrier, some 30% of cargo moved by sea is uninsured, but one source told The Loadstar this figure is could be overly conservative.

Maersk issues new rules for stowage of dangerous goods on its box ships

Maersk Line has announced it is deploying new guidelines for the stowage of containers on its vessels.
And it wants the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to review its guidelines for the handling and carriage of dangerous goods.
