Conrad Shipyard delivers first YRBM

Conrad Shipyard reports that it has successful delivered the first of class Yard, Repair, Berthing, Messing vessel YRBM 57 to the U.S. Navy, marking a significant milestone in the shipyard’s longstanding history. The delivery took place today at Conrad’s shipyard in Amelia, La, where the final inspection by key Navy officials took place.

Conrad Shipyard awarded $18.2 million YRBM contract mod

Within two-weeks of celebrating a First of Class Recognition ceremony for YRBM-57, the first in a new class of yard, repair, berthing, messing (YRBM) vessels, Conrad Shipyard,Morgan City, La., has been awarded an $18,185,672 firm-fixed-price contract modification covering the detail design and construction of one additional YRBM with delivery to Norfolk, Va.

Work will be performed in Amelia, La., and is expected to be completed by June 2026.

NAVSEA exercises $18.48 million YRBM barge option

Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded Conrad Shipyard LLC, Morgan City, La., an $18,484,619 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-22-C-2253) for the detail design and construction of one additional Yard, Repair, Berthing, and Messing craft (YRBM barge), with delivery to Norfolk, Va. This award also includes exercise of a design changes option.

Work will be performed in Amelia, Louisiana, and is expected to be completed by June 2025.

Conrad Shipyard LLC, Morgan City, La., has now released some more details about the major U.S. Navy contract it was awarded earlier this week.

The Yard, Repair, Berthing, and Messing (YRBM) barges provide a temporary home away from home and workplace for service men and women whose vessels are in port for repairs and/or maintenance. Conrad’s design incorporates functional spaces that allow the sailors to work, sleep, and eat comfortably.

Conrad Shipyard wins Navy contract with $143 million potential

Conrad Shipyard LLC, Morgan City, La., has been awarded an $18,988,990 firm-fixed-price contract for the detail design and construction of a Yard, Repair, Berthing, and Messing (YRBM) craft. The contract includes options that, if exercised, would bring its cumulative value to $142,906,420.
